Love my complicated life!!

Life is great in the awesome land of Logan!!
I'm super nervous, I happened to run across a syllbus on the USU homepage for ASL 2; it looks majorly hard. I've also been thinking in relation to grad. school, I don't know if it's a good idea to even both with grad. school. I'm really not the grad. school type and I'd probably graduate with all C's.
I just hate how complicated life can be, I most definately know that I'm sticking with sign language though even if it's hard. So I may just finish the ASL classes and get a school job like Melissa Percival was doing at Myton. I guess that it'll take 4 more semesters to finish the ASL classes though, so I have plenty of time to figure it out!
Anyways, I got to sing in two choirs today, one was Stake choir at Stake Conference. And the other one was with the Institute Choir at a fireside tonight. I love weekends like that, it's in for alot of singing but I love it!! The speakers were amazing and this is most definately one thing that I do love about being in a college town!! Institute of course! :)

Well life is great, I randomly joined Institute Choir the second day of school and I'm really, really glad that I did. It's way awesome, usually I have done choirs just because it's fun to sing...but this choir is majorly tight so it's pretty cool! Tonight we had a post dedication choir concert, alot of the songs were to do with temples/temple work. Seriously every single choir I've ever been in it's been chaos right before at the dress rehearsals ad this was no different. We got there and there were several songs that we had only practiced certain parts so we didn't really have any idea as to how they were working. But they all turned out great, got to love the spirit...:)
I seem to get enlisted into alot of choirs, it's pretty cool though...I'm also in the Stake Choir. It's been pretty fun too, but I like choirs because it makes lots of fun times on Sundays!! :)
Sign Language is Sign Language, I love it but it's soooo confusing at times! But that's okay it's only ASL 1, so I'm sure it's better once you get past level 1!!

Darwin Avenue

Well, I decided that since I'm not in Roosevelt with everyone, I should blog more often. I've decided that as long as I'm in Logan I'm staying on Darwin, because the ward is really nice and I'm tired of moving every year or two. So along with that it looks like the education program is the best at USU, meaning I'll probably end up staying here anyways if I get into the deaf education program. So I guess that the last two years of YSA will be on Darwin most likely, it's to bad I hadn't of come over here sooner. But anyways, all my roommates are pretty cool, at first it was looking like it would be interesting since they're all really young and boy crazy. While I'm way over the guy thing, but it turns out that we all still get along pretty well...so I'm glad! But next summer I'll probably get new roommates, because these ones all still go home in the summer/graduating in May. But it's okay because there are alot of cool girls in our ward, so it probably won't be hard to find other people to go with. Anyways, sign language isn't to bad, but it helps that all I'm doing are ASL classes so I only think about that mainly. It'll be nice when I know it pretty well though!!

So last week Uncle Errol, Aunt Angie and Cheyanne came to town due to Memorial Day, well they went on their own to the cemetary. But after they came back Cheyanne was telling us how she was sitting their by Nelson's headstone and a lizard ran by. So she said that she thought it was a 'gift from God', from Nelson! Anyways the next day I went to the Cemetary since I never got around to it before...well I of course saw a lizard too. But anyways having completely forgotten that as of today I decided to go to the lake and guess what? This is my first time to go swimming in 2 years, it was actually quite fun although I went alone. Well I was just thinking how it was kind of sad that it was the first time in 2 years that I was going swimming, although it was okay since it was still fun! But anyways when I was leaving I was walking up the rock hill and I glanced over to see a lizard run by and then it stopped and stared at me. So I must not have been alone swimming ;)

Well it was Memorial Day this past weekend! Uncle Errol's family came out and so we went to the Evans BBQ along with a BBQ at Uncle Gary's house. I have to say the one at Uncle Gary's was most definately the more fun one, even though it's wierd having everyone married with kids now. But the Evans reunion wasn't that fun because I barely ever see any of them, so I hardly recognized anyone that was there, at those events it's most definately funnier being one of the kids or teenagers so that you can run around and play. But I was lucky and happened to be off at work even though the store was opened, so I got to go to all these exciting events!! Well besides that just lots of work and hope to eventually find an apartment in Logan to sign up for for the fall!!

Stewart's

Well nothing to new, all I ever do is go to work at Stewarts. It's an okay job, but can be yucky because they never keep a consistant schedule. So for the last two weeks I've worked 4-12:00 pm alot and suddenly now I'm on nights alot for the next two weeks. I guess they are training a new girl to do morning stuff...it stinks though since all together I've probably worked there for five years overall. And still I get stuck on nights all the time, it's a pain...but at least I have a job right ;) I guess it wouldn't matter to much, except it causes me to miss Institute class way to often. So then I have no social life, it's sad :(

Awesome!

Sorry for the sideways picture, but anyways it doesn't seem to like to rotate. So anyways due to modern technology, it's pretty easy to keep track of the people we taught on the mission and so forth. Well, sadly due to the whole facebook thing I've found out that the majority of the people who got baptized in the YSA in Puyallup are less active now. (and it hasn't even been a year either) So I was thinking how it's sad that the majority of them were pretty golden and within six to nine months are less active. Well, there is one girl I can't say much about because she's not on facebook much at all, so I can't really talk to her. But the rest are pretty much less active, it was very happy though because last night I was talking to Courtney, one of the girls we taught, on facebook. And she was telling me how she got her very first calling and she's now a Relief-Society teacher in her college YSA. And her boy friend who invited her to church in the first place is turning in his mission papers in a few weeks. It's super awesome! And really it has got to be majorly hard to be a convert in the first place and then to be the only member in your family for that matter. But Courtney is way awesome and is the one who got baptized even though her family was fighting her the whole time and trying to stop her. (and didn't even show up to her baptizm)

Also, some other good news is that there is a family that decided to make it their new years resolution to come to church, (January 2011) in my first Puyallup area. The ladies husband got baptized after we met them, since it was a part member family. Well, we wondered a little on how serious the coming to church was going to be, but they did tell us along with that they were going to get sealed in the temple as well. Super awesome because they are some other people that I've talked to on facebook as well, and the lady told me that they are taking the temple classes at the moment...:) Bytheway this isn't the Chism family that you all heard about, it's another part member family that we taught in Puyallup as well. (the Chisms are taking temple classes at the moment too :))

I wasn't able to get a picture of the whole family since my camera was low on battery life, but this is Tige Barker and his father in law who baptized him. (Him and his wife are taking the temple prep classes in Oregon since they moved there :))

Interesting News...

Well it turns out that I'm going to work in the Lunchroom at the High School, and yeah not to excited about that. But at least it's a job, although only a part time job, so I will be looking for another part time job.
The YSA Ward is getting a little better, but it's hard because alot of the people there have always livedin Roosevelt. So everyone seems to have the same friends that they've had since high school, which makes it hard to really make friends in the ward. (or really have a social life)
I've started talking to some of the people from Duchesne and that type of thing, not that fun being here. But at least there are events at the Institute and with the YSA!
Well hope all goes well with this new job, we'll see how it goes tomorrow ;)

I am back!

I am Sister Evans, or more specially Jeanne Evans, and I just got back from the Washington Tacoma Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints a couple of weeks ago.
Going home from the mission isn't really what it's cracked up to be, when you go home suddenly you have to start school or get a job. And sadly with this economy I'm on the job end of it, not fun at all :(
But it's pretty exciting because a lady named Janine that we taught in Puyallup Washington is taking the temple classes, so that she can go to the temple in the next few months. So although the mission was majorly hard the majority of the time it turned out great and I loved it.
Our mission president wife liked to say "I can do hard thing" and it's so true, the harder it is the better results you'll get. So let's hope I come across a really good job or something, since it's super hard at the moment :)
